From 1993 to 2003 I wrote music, played guitar and keyboards and sampled lots of sounds in The Dismemberment Plan. Since then I've been recording and producing records, mostly at Inner Ear Studios in Arlington, VA. I've also been composing, mixing and editing audio for film projects. I love to talk about making records and working on sound for film, so you should email me, even just for fun.
I do some tracking and almost all of my mixing nowadays (including the Cex record and the Richard Buckner film) with a very portable digital recording and editing system. I prefer to track to tape and mix digitally (summing in analog), but I have done plenty of tracking straight to digital with great results (see the Wave Goodbye track on the project page). I like to travel both inside and outside the US, and I have friends and connections at a number of studios around the country.
