Hello and welcome to my fully revamped website.
First I must extend my sincere and heartfelt thanks to David Durst, who was instrumental in the construction and completion of the site. The Projects page describes past work with mp3s for listening, the Links page links you to friends and good folks, and the Contact page has my email address plus some biographical information.
Second, the state of current work: I am very very excited about the new CEX and Nice Nice record (due out February 14th on Automation Records). Rjyan and Roby make a captivating pair of singers, and the two of them combined with Nice Nice's vibe---sort of random/rhytmic guitar collage over rock-solid beats---make a whole new animal. The first single from the record, 'Baltimore', is available as an mp3 on the Projects page. Working on this record was rewarding and challenging in the best possible way, and I'm glad to have been called in to produce and mix.
I recently completed audio post production work on a Richard Buckner documentary for Tom Branen. It's Tom's first film, and it loosely chronicles a hunk of Richard's road life in 2003, during tours for Impasse. There are some great songs in the film, and many direct and engaging conversations about what it's like to tour for a living. I'm looking forward to the movie's release next year; I think music fans in general and Buckner fans in particular will love it.
Third, the future and beyond. Looking into 2006, I'll be working on a record with DC's own Clark Sabine, formerly of the late, great Motorcycle Wars, for Lujo Records. (See 'X Eyes' on the Projects page for a tidbit of what a new Clark record might sound like.) Lots of sampling and sequencing, plus Clark's vocals and guitar wizardry, and who knows what else. We also recently finished a song for a forthcoming Valentine's Day compilation from Lujo.
I also have another project coming up for Rose, a singer-songwriter from here in town, who has one of the best singing voices I've heard in a long time: she reminds me of Joni Mitchell and Emmylou Harris simultaneously. I'll be co-producing with Stacey Matarrese, of Squatwieler fame, and Stacey, David Durst and I will be putting together new arrangements for a couple of Rose's songs. More news later as the project develops.
Enjoy the site, and feel free to get in touch.
